Home remedies for oily skin

For persons with oily skin, the sebaceous glands in the skin are very active, producing oil which imparts a sheen to the skin. This surface grease on the skin attracts a lot of dirt which makes the skin look dark and also causes acne .

Oily skin is common in teenagers, and the amount of oil produced usually reduces as a person grows older, but for some people, the skin remains oily even in their thirties.

Some home remedies for oily skin are:
1. Make a puree of fresh tomatoes and apply to the skin.

2. Dip a cotton ball in a mild astringent or rose water . Wipe your face with the cotton ball a few times a day.

3. Avoid washing your face with a harsh soap, this activates the sebaceous glands to produce more oil.

4. Mix fresh cucumber and lemon juice and apply it to the skin , when it feels oily.

5. A salt and cucumber scrub also helps reduce the oiliness.

6. Drink plenty of water

7. Rub a very thin slice of apple on your skin.

8. Avoid oily and greasy food, eat fresh fruits

Curing ulcers

Medications are a temporary cure for ulcers, an effective cure involves treating the cause of the ulcer and includes:

1. Reducing stress levels, by eliminating and avoiding the causes of stress like increased work load, find ways to release the stress

2. Having adequate sleep, as the body repairs itself while a person is asleep. If you have a restful sleep, the ulcers can heal faster.  Lack of sleep can also increase the stress levels and further aggravate the problem.

3. Avoid spicy food, tea and coffee, greasy food

4. Acidic foods like lime and orange juice, lettuce, tomato, celery

5. Drink plenty of milk.
